FALL WINTER 2025 Kintsugi Collection

The elegance of French haute couture meets the profound wisdom of Japanese tradition at ATSURO TAYAMA 2025 Fall/Winter Édition de Paris – Kintsugi Collection. Presented amidst the grandeur of Paris Fashion Week, the collection is inspired by the ancient art of Kintsugi.
Mr Tayama transforms fashion into wearable art that each piece a testament to Japanese mastery and the alchemy of imperfection. The valued craftsmanship shines through in every deliberate stroke and hand-brushed gold veins echo Kintsugi’s meditative precision. Every wear becomes an exquisite dialogue between body and artistry, blending cultural fusion with innovative design.
Blending Eastern subtlety with Western audacity, this collection creates a vibrant canvas for cultural dialogue, radiating understated rebellion and self-expression. The collection reimagined through avant-garde techniques highlights Kintsugi’s characteristic elements from multifaceted angles —irregular cracks, golden seams, textured surfaces, and metallic luster. Each piece narrates a tale of transformation, where breakage symbolizes renewal, and cultural fusion sparks innovation.

pre-order the hand-paint pieces
Crafted from premium Italian wool blend, the Édition de Paris - Kintsugi items employed intricate bouclé yarn weaving to mimic the uneven, tactile surface of Kintsugi. Japanese artisans hand-paint golden & silvery motifs stroke by stroke, achieving a superior three-dimensional depth and richness.
The Édition de Paris - Kintsugi items are available to be pre-ordered by 30 September, the items will be ready in November.
Avant-garde in metallic futurism
Diverging from the haute couture Édition de Paris, the Kintsugi essentials highlight Kintsugi‘s democratic spirit — turning everyday wear into wearable philosophy with hand-scraped printing techniques, silver and copper metallic prints layered over subtly embossed textures, printed motifs replicate Kintsugi‘s golden cracks and ceramic hues.

Kintsugi 金継
The term comes from the Japanese words kin (gold) and tsugi (joinery). Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. This craft does not conceal fractures but celebrates them, transforming shattered pieces into objects of greater beauty and resilience. It is a philosophy of rebirth, where flaws are not erased but elevated into art, embodying the wabi-sabi ethos of impermanence and authenticity.
