ATSURO TAYAMA continues to build on the essence of the ART OF GARDEN collection with a new Fall/Winter ensemble conceived by Mr. Tayama to elevate the idyllic lifestyle of nature lovers. Drawing inspiration from his favourite world of horticulture and gardening, the collection invites wearers to find joy in the benevolent nature through breathable apparel and versatile, foldable carryalls crafted for optimal outdoor convenience.

The "Art of Garden" was first introduced in FW21 fall/winter collection, aptly named the "Gardening Collection" in Chinese. As the name suggests, this collection revolves around themes of gardens, horticulture, and the beauty of flora. Mr. Tayama has a deep appreciation for nature and a longstanding passion for gardening design, which has been cultivated since childhood. In his hometown of Kumamoto Prefecture, he has access to 12,000 square meters of land where he personally tends to a diverse array of plants and trees. One day, while gardening, Mr. Tayama felt inspired by the realization that, as a fashion designer, he lacked stylish and functional clothing suitable for gardening and outdoor activities. This epiphany led to the creation of the "Art of Garden" collection.
“For the past 40 years, I have maintained the design philosophy of Avant-Garde, continually seeking evolution in each collection,” Mr. Tayama shared.
Regarding the style of ATSURO TAYAMA, Mr. Tayama describes himself as an evolutionary designer who does not make drastic changes to the brand's philosophy and design direction. Instead, he consistently seeks evolution within each collection, which has led to the creation of unique combinations of materials, colors, layers, and silhouettes. Whether it’s outerwear, bottom pieces, or accessories, he carefully selects comfortable and durable functional fabrics, incorporating details such as multiple hidden pockets and abrasion-resistant features, ensuring a blend of fashion and functionality. In addition to a range of clothing, the FW24 collection introduces versatile pieces that embody the theme of transformation.

The 2-in-1 cotton top that gives the appearance of layering a short-sleeve shirt over a T-shirt. The jacquard fabric of the waffle top mimics the texture of knitted garments with abrasion-resistant features while the double pockets on both sides offer a more sophisticated take on Japanese outdoor.
